Quilts in the Spring

Would just like to inform you of a fantastic show taking place next weekend that we will be attending.  Every couple of years Southport Quilters present an Exhibition of Quilts in Birkdale, Southport.  During the two day event they display a huge amount of stunning quilts made by all their members in the Methodist Church and Church hall.  This year in addition to their usual display of quilts they will be including an 'Aspects of Spring' exhibition of suitcase quilts (quilts no larger than 24" x 24") plus fabrics, handicrafts, cushions and plants will all be available to purchase.  Refreshments will be available and might I add many very delicious homemade cakes.  All is in aid of various charities.  We are grateful to have been invited to join in and we will be bringing along many new fabrics and packs with some special offers just for the show.  Really worth a visit....Oh, did I mention the cakes? 

Times - Friday 21st May 10am to 6pm and Saturday 22nd May 10am to 5pm

By car – 17 miles North of Liverpool, and a similar distance South of Preston. The car park entrance is on Sandon  Road, just round the corner from the church. Roadside parking is not metered.

By rail – Nearest stations are Birkdale and Hillside on the Northern Line. A bus service runs from the station in Birkdale Village and bus stops are very close to the venue. There is not a taxi rank or cab office in the village or Hillside.

By bus : – Local Bus numbers  49, 49A, 47

Liverpool-Preston service Bus number X2, a half hourly service. 

Admission - £1, with free admission for children under 12 accompanying an adult.  Entry is through the front door of the church.
